      DMV Regional Meeting

      Free for medical group members, regional meetings are specifically designed to be interactive with an agenda crafted to facilitate networking among attendees. Time is split between succinct presentations, small group breakouts, and an open floor ("Hot Topics") where attendees can consult with the group for advice on any topic. To ensure the content is specific to individual markets, topics and speakers are identified via a planning committee of AMGA medical group members in the region.

      Rethinking Patient Access: What We Tried, What We Learned, and What Comes Next at WellSpan
      Speaker: Kimberly Bahata, DNP, RN, MBA, CPHQ, CCM, Vice President, Operations, Women & Children Service Line; & Chief Nursing Officer, WellSpan Medical Group

      This session will share WellSpan’s experiences improving patient access through centralized eVisits and RN Nurse Navigation, expanded online scheduling, and efforts to turn scheduled appointments into completed care. We will explore how dedicated response pathways and standardized workflows can address delays and variation, highlighting reported results and lessons learned. We will discuss progress in self-scheduling and the operational challenges of managing scheduling exceptions while preserving patient choice. Participants will examine the gap between a full schedule and completed visits, along with measures that help assess whether access is truly improving. Through peer discussion, attendees will consider which approaches they could adapt to their own organizations and where local ownership or different strategies may better serve patients.
