Zoster Vaccination Improvement Quality and Innovation Collective (QuIC)

Zoster Vaccination Improvement Quality and Innovation Collective (QuIC)

AMGA’s Zoster Vaccination Improvement Quality and Innovation Collective (QuIC) engages AMGA member organizations around the goals of improving vaccination rates for the recombinant zoster vaccine and closing gaps in care for eligible adult patients.

This QuIC is a three-phase initiative that utilizes quality improvement tools, qualitative methodology, and interactive workshops—including a virtual discussion forum and two in-person meetings—to engage AMGA member organizations in thoughtful discussions to collect insights and share best practices on improving zoster vaccination rates.

The program focuses on understanding key stakeholders who impact the way shingles is being presented at the system level, care team level, and patient level.

      Opportunity

The program will engage multidisciplinary teams from up to 10 medical groups and health systems interested in improving vaccination rates for the recombinant zoster vaccine among their eligible adult patients. In collaboration with AMGA, participating organizations will identify and implement one targeted intervention focused on the following key areas:

      • Identifying and accessing systematic and population-level barriers that impact the shingles vaccine communication and access.

      • Understanding and identifying the key drivers at the healthcare system level that support successful shingles awareness and prevention efforts.

      • Identifying patient populations that have lower vaccination and develop health equity strategies to address barriers.
