Administering Vaccines Outside the Clinic
The July webinar featured two champions of patient access and outreach at Sentara Healthcare: Iris Lundy, RN, BSN, director of health equity and Heather Strock, executive director of operations at Sentara Community Care to discuss best practices and lessons learned in community-based immunization care. Iris prioritizes identifying and addressing healthcare inequities in the communities she serves. Heather is a leader at Sentara Community Care, which offers neighborhood-level access to holistic care for Medicaid members, as well as uninsured and underinsured individuals, through two models: Sentara Community Care Centers and Sentara Mobile Care. Iris and Heather are part of a community service team that focuses on providing holistic care to underserved populations, including administering vaccines outside the clinic year-round.
