ASPIRE Implementation Studies
ASPIRE, or Accelerating System Progress in Implementation Research and Education, supports AMGA members in achieving desired outcomes by translating evidence-based solutions into practice. AMGA uses implementation science to identify the core elements, barriers, and facilitators that hinder or lead to successful interventions so that members may develop strategies that lead to widespread use and improved patient outcomes.
Each ASPIRE implementation project addresses a key aspect of care that is challenging healthcare systems.
“With health systems functioning in increasingly dynamic and resource-constrained environments, building internal capacity for solving complex problems in healthcare—problems that often stand in the way of major advancements in quality, patient care, and lower costs—is essential to one’s survival.” — Jerry Penso, MD, MBA, President and CEO, AMGA
Benefits to members participating in ASPIRE:
-
Use of implementation science frameworks and models that can reduce program costs, improve health outcomes, and decrease health disparities in your patient population.
-
Actionable and pragmatic knowledge to adapt interventions to different conditions and patient groups.
-
Methods of provider training (often include CME and MOC), technical assistance, and engagement to ensure effective uptake of interventions.
-
Benchmarking and shared learning of innovative approaches to address care gaps.
-
Clinician and operational staff enrichment—staff may develop skills as investigators, research leads, or research coordinators for other initiatives at your institution.
-
Stipends for participating organizations and individuals completing surveys, interviews, or serving as knowledge expert advisors in different roles.
