      Anne Rose, PharmD, is the inpatient Pharmacy Manager for internal medicine and cardiology, manages the Anticoagulation Stewardship Program and Anticoagulation Clinic at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Health System (UW Health).

      In her current position, she coordinates all anticoagulation related safety, quality, decision support and performance improvement initiatives across UW Health.  Additionally, she is a clinician practicing in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery at UW Health’s University Hospital and in anticoagulation management at the UW Health Anticoagulation Clinic.  In 2011, the Anticoagulation Stewardship Program received the Award for Excellence in Medication-Use Safety from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation for pharmacist led initiatives in improving patient care.  In 2015, the Anticoagulation Stewardship Program received the Health-Care Associated Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Champion award by the CDC.

       Dr. Rose received her PharmD from Butler University and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at the Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. Dr. Rose has published papers and chapters on anticoagulation stewardship and has been an invited speaker to many national meetings to speak about anticoagulation stewardship.

      Dr. Copeland attended Abilene Christian University and graduated medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas. She completed her residency at UT Southwestern/Children's Medical Center in Dallas where she also served as chief resident. She has also previously served as a volunteer private practice clinical assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical School/Children's Medical Center Dallas and currently serves as the Chair of the AMGA Quality Improvement Council and as a member of the AMGA Foundation Board.

      Curt Lindberg, DMan, MHA

      Curt Lindberg, DMan, MHA, is Principal and Senior Consultant in Partners in Complexity, an organization that specializes in facilitating improvement and change initiatives using new theories and processes inspired by complexity science and implementation science.

      He helped introduce the social and behavioral change process, Positive Deviance (PD), into healthcare in North and South America and served as principal investigator on the first significant multi-hospital application in the US. He coauthored Inviting Everyone: Healing Healthcare through Positive Deviance.

      In recent years he has been active in developing and diffusing Relational Coordination theory in healthcare in the United States. He has led Relational Coordination-informed initiatives to improve the quality of care in an intensive care unit, in a family medicine practice, a federally-qualified health center, in case management process in a large health insurer, and in joint replacement surgery. He also helped integrate Relational Coordination into the culture of Cabin Creek Health Systems and Billings Clinic.

      Lindberg holds a masters degree in healthcare administration and a doctorate in complexity science and social change which he earned at University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. Lindberg has played an important role in bringing complexity science concepts into healthcare and management. He has written numerous articles and coauthored several books, including Edgeware: Lessons From Complexity Science for Health Care Leaders and On the Edge: Nursing in the Age of Complexity.

      Marcus Thygeson, MD, MPH

      Marcus Thygeson, M.D, MPH is Chief Health Officer at Bind Health, a health plan administrator for self-funded employers in the United States.

      Marcus has served on both sides of health care--as a physician treating patients and as a health plan executive. Currently, he leads the health team that oversees the redesign of health benefits as “On Demand Health Insurance” mapping value to care by condition.

      Marcus has extensive experience leading teams that create and refine health service innovations that lead to improvements in health outcomes. He has served in a variety of health care leadership roles, including President of the Center for Healthcare Innovation at Allina Health and as Chief Health Officer at Blue Shield of California, where he oversaw medical services and innovations, medical management, clinical quality, pharmacy benefits management and medical policies.

      Marcus serves on the National Committee for Quality Assurance Committee for Performance Measurement and the Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative board of directors. He is a published author of both books and articles on a variety of health service topics, including shared decision making, care management methods, worksite and community wellness, applications of complexity science in health care and comparative configurational methods.

      Marcus received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and an M.P.H. from the University of Minnesota.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

      Michael S. Kleinman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (MedPeds) at UTHSC and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program.

      Dr. Kleinman specializes in primary care Internal Medicine (with Baptist Memorial Healthcare) and inpatient Pediatrics. He serves as the Continuity Clinic director for the MedPeds residents and is the Director of the Transitional Care program at Lebonheur Children's Hospital for children with chronic diseases who are becoming adults. He has lectured on the clinical significance of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in pediatric and complex care populations.

      Mike graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center (UTHSC) where he served as Chief Resident.

      Paige Christensen, APRN

      Paige Christensen, APRN, is the Associate Medical Director of Thrombosis and Anticoagulation & and the Director of the Clinical Pharmacy Anticoagulation Service at Intermountain Healthcare.

      She has specialized in anticoagulation management for the past 18 years. During this time, she has overhauled existing outpatient anticoagulation management services through standardization and participating on a team that created clinical guidelines, patient and provider education tools, and computerized clinical decision support tools for anticoagulation management in the adult inpatient and outpatient settings and the pediatric outpatient setting.

      Paige is passionate about identifying creative solutions to ensure access, equity, safety and quality in all phases of anticoagulation and thrombosis management. She received her APRN degree from Columbia University and did her training at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University.

      Rae Ann Williams, MD, FACP

      Rae Ann Williams, M.D., FACP is the Regional Medical Director for Primary Care at HealthPartners Medical Group.

      Dr. Williams is an experienced clinician with extensive knowledge in process improvement and clinical operations.  Earlier this year, she transitioned from her longstanding primary care practice to a consultative practice at the Thrombosis Clinic within the HealthPartners care group.  In her current leadership role as a Regional Medical Director, Rae Ann is primarily responsible for the health and patient experience outcomes of the 7 clinics in her region. 

      Rae Ann’s interests include systems-based approaches to preventive care delivery, diabetes care optimization, and hypertension management.  In addition, she has participated in work to centralize primary care services including medication refills, anticoagulation management and cervical cancer screening. Through her division’s work on redesigning ambulatory care, HealthPartners has twice been awarded the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Acclaim Award recognizing innovation in health care. 

      Dr. Williams is a 1988 graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

      Kay Sadik, PharmD, PhD

      Kay Sadik, PharmD, PhD, is the Director of Population Health Research for Janssen Scientific Affairs, LLC.

      In her role, Kay is responsible for leading Population Health Research and Health Equity focused studies and initiatives. Kay has more than 20 years of experience working across a variety of functions, sectors, and therapeutic areas within Johnson & Johnson. Prior to joining the Population Health Research Team, Kay led the development and execution of the evidence generation, evidence dissemination, and market access scientific strategies for the Janssen Hematology portfolio. In addition, Kay successfully led multiple product launch activities across the oncology portfolio. Prior to these roles, Kay held various leadership roles across Ethicon, DePuy Synthes, LifeScan and Janssen Pharmaceuticals in the areas of Health Economics, Market Access, Field Health Economics and Marketing.

      Kay recieved a PharmD and a PhD in Pharmacy Administration/Health Economics from the University of South Carolina and has authored several publications and presented at various professional meetings.
